1. Estimates Only, Not an Electrical Design

The Camper Power & Climate Planner's outputs — energy consumption, runtime, charge time, and heating and cooling estimates — come from simplified energy models calibrated to limited measured data. Your actual usage, weather, insulation, battery condition, and equipment behavior will vary from the model's assumptions. Carry margin: do not size a battery, charger, or climate system to the exact number this tool produces, and do not rely on the tool's output as your only plan for staying warm, cool, or powered in conditions where failure would be dangerous.

2. Product Data Is a Snapshot

Product names, specifications, and prices shown in the Service were compiled and last verified on 2026-07-20. Manufacturers change lineups, specifications, firmware behavior, and prices without notice, and regional variants differ. Treat every product figure in this tool as unverified reference data: always confirm current specifications, ratings, and prices with the manufacturer or retailer before making a purchase decision.

3. Battery Safety

Large batteries and power stations are heavy, energy-dense objects. Secure heavy batteries while driving — an unsecured mass of that weight is lethal in a crash. Charge and discharge only within the manufacturer's rated temperature range; charging lithium batteries below freezing or in extreme heat can damage cells and create hazards. LiFePO4 chemistry is more stable than other lithium chemistries, but LiFePO4 still burns — treat every battery as a fire risk, keep it away from flammable materials, and follow the manufacturer's storage, charging, and transport instructions.

4. Heating & Cooling Device Safety

Portable air conditioners require proper venting of hot exhaust air and management of condensate; running one unvented in a closed camper will heat the space, not cool it, and can create moisture problems. Never run combustion heaters (propane, diesel, gasoline, or any fuel-burning device) unvented inside a camper or tent. Combustion produces carbon monoxide, which is odorless and deadly. Use a working carbon monoxide detector whenever you sleep in an enclosed space with any fuel-burning device present — no exceptions.

5. Electrical Hazards & Vehicle Systems

Electrical systems can cause serious injury, death, and fire. Both the low-voltage DC and the 120V AC systems in a camper present risks of electric shock, electrocution, arc flash, short-circuit, overheating, and fire. High-current DC wiring in particular can deliver enough energy to melt tools, ignite insulation, or cause severe burns even at "only" 12 volts. You assume all risk of installing, modifying, or operating any electrical equipment identified by the Service.

Factory outlet and inverter wattages referenced by the Service are trim- and option-dependent — verify the ratings on your own vehicle before relying on them. Do not exceed the rated capacity of any vehicle circuit, outlet, or fuse. All electrical work should be performed by a qualified person in accordance with the equipment manufacturers' instructions and all applicable codes and standards — including, as applicable, the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), NFPA 1192, and ABYC guidance — and with properly rated wire, overcurrent protection (fusing), and connectors. Installing an alternator charger, DC-DC charger, inverter, or auxiliary battery system involves high-current wiring that can cause fires if done incorrectly. If you are not competent to do this work safely, do not attempt it.
